ACCREDITED MEMBERS

Membership in the American Gap Association represents a commitment to the highest standards in safety, quality, and integrity. They have agreed to consistently abide by the Standards of the American Gap Association, which typically means that a student can count on an experience with the highest caliber of field leadership, the best degree of office support, and the highest standards of safety.

The American Gap Association holds the official Standards for Gap Year organizations in the United States as recognized by the US Department of Justice and the US Federal Trade Commission. In order to continue to maintain this certification, the American Gap Association has agreed to treat the Standards as a "living document" in representation of the variety of different ways organizations and experts will contribute to its development. Finally, we have invited a wide variety of the most advanced experts in the field of Gap Years to develop the Standards.

Organizations that are Members of the American Gap Association will have successfully passed through the Accreditation process as outlined by the American Gap Association Standards. Upon submission of the AGA Application, organizations will be awarded "Probational Membership" status, which denotes their commitment to the highest quality standards available, though not yet their ability to successfully pass through the Accreditation process. It is the position of the American Gap Association that not every organization should be accepted into the AGA's Membership unless they meaningfully and with full intent desire to abide by the Standards.

A list of Members and Probationary Members will be added shortly.
